About Kath

I am a qualified primary school teacher with over 15 years experience in London schools. I currently work as a dyslexia teacher and literacy specialist in a Wandsworth school. I am a reading and phonics consultant and trainer providing training across the UK for schools, teacher training organisations and a national reading charity. I am a dyslexia assessor and specialist teacher, accredited by The British Dyslexia Association.

Tutoring experience

I have been preparing Year 5 children for the Wandsworth Test and other school entrance exams for over ten years, helping them gain places at their preferred secondary school including grammars and independents. I pride myself on having a good rapport with my students and their families, with many families returning to me when the younger siblings themselves reach Year 5.

Secondary Transfer Experience

As the parent of three teenagers, I have been through the secondary transfer process myself. So I have been in your shoes three times and survived! I am happy to provide guidance on the local schools and the application process as well as offer reassurance to parents during what I know can be a confusing and stressful time.
